Neurodivergent OTs

Hello and OT student requesting help on a assignment...

Hello all,

I'm Nicci and I was diagnosed at the age of 36 with dyslexia and ADHD (inattentive type).

I'm an OT apprentice and currently in my 3rd year. How I've gotten this far I don't know! But it's been incredibly helpful to finally understand why I've always struggled with studying, along side other various struggles.

Thank you Danni for creating this group, I look forward to reading about other people's experiences and learning from you all.

On a side note, I'd like to put out a request for any possible help with a current uni assignment.

We've been asked to either write a protocol or present a poster, promoting an intervention plan in a diverse setting.

I hope it's okay to put this on this group, but I wanted to see if I can gather and discuss any information relating to School-Based OT interventions, especially relating to modifying classrooms to become all-inclusive and neurodiverse friendly.

If anyone has any tips, suggestions or any knowledge they'd like to share, I am all ears. But in case you'd like a prompt and/or you're just the person to help me, I'm stuck on finding what particular modifications or resources are known to help pupils with (or without) a neurodevelopmental condition to help their attention, self-regulation or promote general wellbeing, within a primary school classroom?

Whether this is from lived experience or you're aware of research or work /ed within this area... It'll be all helpful stuff and much appreciated 👍
