Hi everyone,

It's great to find a group supporting ND OT's. πŸ˜€ Although not diagnosed myself, my daughter was diagnosed Autistic 2 years ago and so the journey of acknowledging my own (and the whole family's) ND traits and characteristics began!

I'm very much realising that I experience severe task paralysis when I have a lot to do and am feeling overwhelmed, so I'm slowly putting strategies in place, so as not to get to that place. I'm lucky enough to work with a few therapists who also have ND family's so we offload together quite often.

I'm looking forward to being part of a group of OT's who share similar challenges. πŸ˜€

Hello,

I am a late diagnosed Neurodiverse OT also with a very Neurospicey family. The difficulties I have faced trying to get the right support for my children and struggling to find it prompted me to start working as an OT privately with both adults, young adults and children who are/ think they are Neurodiverse.

Neurodiversity is my favourite subject and I would love to connect with people who feel the same way.

Hi Becky πŸ‘‹ Thanks for your post.

I found out I was ND in my late 30's after my son was diagnosed.

I have limited experience of working directly with ND clients, but this is something I hope to gain more skills and experience in. Maybe one day I could start my own private practice.

May I ask, is there anything specific you would recommend to up skill in this area? 😊

recruiting autistic adults for research study - a call to participate in ND affirming research

Hi all, I am still in need of participants for my dissertation research study (PhD in OT). I am exploring how daily routines impact occupational engagement and well-being in autistic adults. If you are an autistic adult, I would so appreciate it if you would complete the brief screening survey which can be found on the attached recruitment flyer.

The study consists of 3 short surveys (should take 10-15 min to complete) and a routines tracker.

Thank you for your consideration!

Hi I'm Dan, neurospicy and late diagnosed,

Photo is from a recent 'sketchbook club' outing...

I'm new to the hub and new here too. I'm a neurodiversity network co-lead in my trust. I'm also a regional EDB contact, and looking to network with other OT's. Looking forward to sharing helpful things and being part of discussions.
