Risk assessments help to identify when injuries could occur and what to do to prevent them. Health professionals should carry out regular risk assessments, in order to identify and address any risks beforehand. Before, during and after any moving and handling risk assessment, health professionals should reflect upon whether the equipment, staff, transfer aids, etc. have been selected correctly and all risks managed as much as possible.
