Hello! I am an OT in New York City, and I am looking to meet an OT in another country who would like to have students write back and forth to each other. I think it could be a good way to build writing skills and life skills!
If you're interested please respond!
Hiya All
My name is Tash and like many other Covnertry Student (England), I have been given the task to make interactions with other international OT students to get a better understanding of the similarities and differences between the two courses and fields of work.
Please drop me an email at millert10@uni.coverntry.ac.uk, if you do not mind educating me on what its like being an OT student in your country.
Kind Regards
Tash Miller
Hi, my name is Sarah and I've just joined Coventry University in UK this year to study as an apprentice OT.
I have been given a project to connect with someone who is doing OT in a different part of the world and it would be great to hear about how your practice is similar and/or different to mine. Please be in touch if this is of interest to you,
Thank you! Sarah
Hello Beena! Thank you so much for your response. That is amazing that you chose Occupational Therapy and took the opportunity to do something new!
I hope you have enjoyed learning all about it. How is your final year going? Where are you studying? There is so much I need to learn about Occupational Therapy.
I will send an email to you, it would be great to chat some more. Thank You, Hannah
Hi Hannah..I'm Beena Prety C an final year BOT (Bachelor of Occupational Therapy ) student from Tamilnadu, India. And I would like to share my opinions from an Occupational therapy student point of view from my context and environment. There are only few colleges in India that provide Occupational therapy course..And there is less awareness about occupational therapy in my country.Even I also didn't know what is occupational therapy and the role of occupational therapist before joining the course. I just wanted to choose a paramedical profession and occupational therapy is a term that I didn't hear before. So I decided to choose this as my profession to be new and different from others.I wanted to find out what is occupational therapy...
And you can contact me for sharing our both experiences beenadhas1999@gmail.com
Thanks so much for sharing Hub Team and for sharing on Social Media! :) If any OT's or Student OT's would like to connect and discuss the differences or similarities surrounding Occupational Therapy in your country and the UK, it would be great to chat! I have just started my OT journey and have chosen to develop my career in OT as I love to see people being able to acheive goals they set for themselves. Seeing people participate in occupations that they enjoy or have meaning to them, no matter how simple the task or activity may be, is very rewarding.
What is important to you about your role as an Occupational Therapist? :)
Hi Hannah
I'm also a first year student at Coventry Uni doing the same course (group 1). I have sent Hub community team the same request. I haven't heard back, however i only sent it this morning.
I'm just wondering how many approaches the OT hub is going to get, given the amount of OT students all seeking Pen Pals.
I have formulated a questionnaire with another OT student in the same group as me. So was wondering if you were trying to do this on your own, how about linking up or sharing a Pen Pal.
Let me know your thoughts - Annabel
