Hi everyone
I'm seeking advice and support in regards to moving and handing interventions with a person with a diagnosis of FOP and wandering how they managed moving and handling interventions. A brief overview of the condition: this is a very rare condition were additional bone forms in the muscles and other connective tissues, such as tendons and ligaments. The person currently has some very limited standing ability, and stands in plantar flexion (basically stood on her toes) with the assistance of two and is able to complete step round transfers, although the person's main difficulty at this time, is achieving a lie to sit from the bed due to minimal flexion in the hips. I have researched standing beds and turning beds, to support her with this transfers. All support and advice is greatly appreciated

Susan
