Exploring the Transition from Occupational Therapy Student to Practicing Therapist.
Hello! My name is Lauren Picard, and I am an OTD student at Texas Woman's University. As part of my capstone project, I am conducting a study to learn more about the lived experience of the transition from occupational therapy student to practicing occupational therapist.
The purpose of this study is to:
Identify barriers and facilitators in the transition process from occupational therapy students to a professional role.
Gain better understanding of the transitional experience in newly graduated occupational therapists from academic settings to professional practice.
Participation is limited to:
Those 18 years of age, or older.
Those with 3 years of occupational therapy practice, or less.
Those who reside and work in the United States.
Those who have recieved a graduate level degree in occupational therapy.
Participation involves completing an anonymous 10-15 minute survey conducted via Qualtrics.
Participants who may be interested in further discussing their experiences have the option to submit their email address to be contacted about an additonal follow-up interview.
