OT Students from the US seek Certified Hand Therapists for survey research about their communication use!
You ever think about how your words impact your clients? Imagine a client telling their therapist an activity made them uncomfortable, but the therapist just pushed them to continue. How do you think the client would feel? Would they feel the therapist genuinely cared about them? Would their confidence in the therapist’s ability change?
Our goal as OTs is to provide effective therapy to best meet our client’s needs. To do this, we should be aware of our communication styles, evaluate how we communicate and learn new methods to use with clients.
What better way to do this than to participate in an exciting new study being conducted by graduate OT students at Brenau University! We are conducting a study to explore communication styles used by CHTs in the hand therapy setting and would be most appreciative to those who wouldn’t mind helping us out by completing the self-report survey in the link below!!!
