Remote Working? Location Independence? Travelling as an OT?

Hello! I'm doing some research for a current project and wondered if anyone would be happy to share their role as an OT who can work remotely? This meaning you're able to be in any country and any time zone whilst still carrying out your role as an OT whether clinical or non-clinical. You don't have to call yourself an OT but be using your skills and training in your day to day work. Look forward to reading any replies and connecting further! Hannah x

I have developed CoordiKids Courses (online exercises for kids to build foundational skills, including sensory motor skills). We have members across the globe and support them via free, short consults. I have been working as an OT with regular sessions in many countries. However, outside Australia, it has to be privately funded, my calendar is set up for clients to pay 50% at the time of booking - reducing the no-shows. And yes, all my work is digital. I can use my laptop to access all my resources. There are appointment times from 5 am on one day of the week till 8 pm on another day to accommodate time zones in other countries. This is the challenge of travelling - I once lead an online mentoring group of therapists at 11pm in the country where I was travelling! I've been attending urgent meetings at all hours of the night. Insurance covers online consultations in all countries BUT USA and Canada.

OTs working with Parkinsons patients and carepartners

Hello! I am not an OT—I am a certified Dance for PD teacher in Philadelphia PA, currently in my 3rd year of a grant from the Parkinson’s Foundation to improve the activities of daily living of cohabiting patients and carepartners. The program employs novel methods of training visual, auditory and tactile cueing for more intimacy and better communication between partners. This year, I am eager to collaborate with OTs on Zoom who might be interested. Please contact me: Judith.sachs@gmail.com.
