Hi everyone! I’m a relatively new OT working in the acute care setting without any mentorship and find myself struggling a bit. I’d love more information any of you have to offer in the way of resources for tx ideas for medically comprimised low level patients. Or any information in way of tx stratfies related to traumatic injuries. I work in a trauma hospital so many of my cases are very unique. I have a lot of UE injuries, GSWs, etc. anyone have any good tips?

Hi @msavarese92! I also work in an acute care setting in the UK, with little OT support - as the service is traditionally medical model with a majority of nursing staff. We work in the community with older-age patients, who have complex care needs (medically and socially). These range from UTIs and trauma following falls, to cellulitis, TIA/stroke and COPD. Where in the world do you work? How long do you typically spend with your patients in the hospital? Do you have a line manager (perhaps he/she is not an OT?) And could you explain the abbreviations 'UE' and 'GSW'? Perhaps, although the conditions we work with vary, there may be common ground to help each other out with treatment ideas!
Hi [@msavarese92]! Thanks for your post. Are you happy for us to raise this to the attetion of fellow Members, via our social media networks and within our February Hub Newsletter (due out in the coming days)? Should get you a speedier response! The OT Hub Team hubteam@theOThub.com
