I am a Occupational Therapist (of 20 years) currently working in Cheshire, UK in a lovely Community Care Team that comprises of Community Nurses, a Care Coordinator, a part time physiotherapist and myself (also part time). We also have a nominated Social Care Assessor and are in the process of establishing closer links with the Older People's Mental Health Team (CPN's and OT's). We work closely with the GPs/ Practice Nurses/ Advanced Nurse Practitioners in our area. I am looking forward to connecting with OT's from across the world and learning and sharing experiences. I am looking for advice currently in the Moving and Handling (with Dignity) of Bariatric Clients (36 stone gentleman) in the community and Managing Severe Hand Contractures in the older person with Dementia at home or in care homes.
