Hi all,
I have worked in the mental health services for a number of years now and am looking to go it alone. I have the ideas all in place and just looking for some advise with the advertising aspect of things? What advice would you give?
I plan to do nature based therapy for mental health.
Thanks šš¼
Hello! Transitioning to your own venture in mental health services is a significant step. Your focus on nature-based therapy is fantastic. For effective advertising, consider leveraging digital platforms, sharing success stories, and connecting with communities in need. Best of luck on your journey! Go for it - it's super hard work as you have to have a hat for everything, admin, accounts, marketing etc etc but it is very rewarding as you are not constrained by the confines of an NHS or Social Care service. You can truly be person centred and work holistically. I've never looked back! Brigitte, Red Squirrel - OT for people experiencing hoarding
Hi @matthomewood. A few comments shared by others on social media, in response to your query so far... Sandpaper Arts (Facebook): "Matt good luck with your ventureā¦ It can seem daunting but well worth the leap. Iāve found advertising via established local partner organisations' Facebook pages a good start in getting my business offer out there." Christine Ribik OTR/L (LinkedIn): "Best decision I ever made!" Sheela Ivlev OTR/L (LinkedIn): "As a mental health OT that works for myself, I say go for it. It takes a lot of work including the education/awareness piece, but itās beyond rewarding doing what you know is needed and client directed. Hopefully you have a network that can refer people to you, if not then make connections with other therapists and psychiatrists and share what you do and how you can work together on shared goals."
Thanks for reaching out @matthomewood. We'll bring your forum to the attention of fellow Members in the coming days, to prompt speedier responses.
Connect with referrers. They can get you the first clients. So you don't need ads. It's how I started.
