Practicing as an OT with a disability
I’m a student just starting out on my training to become an Occupational Therapist. I also have a disability myself and am finding it really interesting to explore the different ways of adjusting practice. I’ve come across some innovative approaches by other Occupational Therapists to work with their disability and how this can influence and change the nature of some client interactions (eg. adjustments to techniques for physical or sensory impairments, distance consultations & social media engagement).
I wondered if anyone else had any resources, experiences or thoughts to share about this?

Thanks for getting involved in the conversation @Rose! We're glad to hear the individual challenges faced by each person you mention didn't pose significant enough barriers for them to practice 😄 Moreover, your professional development has been enhanced by their existence in the workforce!
