Role of OT in cognitive screening/assessments

Hello,

I work at a Specialist Rehabilitation service in Scotland. We are fortunate to have neuro psychology as part of our team. Due to the crossover of profession in terms of cognition, there is a sense that OTs are being deskilled when it comes to formal assessments e.g. Ace iii, OCS, CAM

I'd be keen to hear other people's experience of working along side neuro psychology in this regard.

Thanks,

Rebecca

yes i must admit before clinical psych came to our ward, OT's were the go-to person for cognitive assessments and I definitely noticed a new level of cognitve competence / training was needed before we were 'allowed' to do the screenings we had already been doing for 10 years!
