Neurodivergent OTs

PublicΒ·355 members

Great to see these groups forming a valuable resource. Being neurodivergent myself, I understand the struggles and have built my USP around managing these differences through nature-based therapy. Having struggled to pull myself through burnout using these methods, I have built a unique program directly from my experience.

@The Barefoot OT - Matt - would you be happy for the Hub to bring this post to the attention of fellow Members via its social networks, to generate awareness?

Hello and OT student requesting help on a assignment...

Hello all,

I'm Nicci and I was diagnosed at the age of 36 with dyslexia and ADHD (inattentive type).

I'm an OT apprentice and currently in my 3rd year. How I've gotten this far I don't know! But it's been incredibly helpful to finally understand why I've always struggled with studying, along side other various struggles.

Thank you Danni for creating this group, I look forward to reading about other people's experiences and learning from you all.

On a side note, I'd like to put out a request for any possible help with a current uni assignment.

We've been asked to either write a protocol or present a poster, promoting an intervention plan in a diverse setting.

Hi Ruth,

nice to meet you! Where abouts in the world are you? :)

Hi there, hoping to find connection here. I am finding out I do have a lot of characteristics indicating I do have ADHD. Actually by giving therapy to people with long covid and/or chronic tiredness, I started to recognise a lot of my own behavior and identity. As I try to have a positive mindset in life, I am trying to understand my self a bit better now.

I'm finding the same Ascwinstam but fine the strategies I use in practice also work for me. There are ways to manage ADHD though having a positive mindset.
