I was a mental health OT until 2000 and OT Educator until 2013 though I have maintained some guest teaching on OT programmes in Scotland. I have a specialism in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy and co-authored Creating Positive Futures: Solution Focused Recovery from Mental Distress.

I am also the co-creator of the Contexts of Participation critical thinking tool which was designed to promote discussion around the barriers and enablers of participation in occupations. https://contextsofparticipation.org/

I live in Edinburgh, Scotland where I work at the University of Edinburgh part-time. When I'm not working, I'm usually knitting or walking by the sea or in the hills.
