Penny Morton Smith
About
I am a qualified occupational therapist (OT) and ADHD-Rehabilitation Services Provider with lived experience of ADHD. I have 7 years’ NHS experience in mental health settings, where I specialised in work/study support and ADHD. Prior to becoming an OT, I was a teacher. I have over 20 years’ teaching experience, including 3 as a support base teacher for children with severe and enduring additional support needs and 9 as an autism outreach teacher.
Morton Occupational Therapy supports adults with ADHD - suspected, self-diagnosed and formally diagnosed - to do, be and become what and who they wish to and to feel a sense of belonging in so doing. By addressing challenges specifically related to ADHD (procrastination, poor time and task management and emotional dysregulation, for example) and other related ones, such as anxiety/stress, poor sleep and difficulties with study/employment, I:
Maximise quality of life and daily functioning
Provide practical, personalised solutions to everyday problems
Improve self-esteem and emotional wellbeing
Reduce stigma surrounding neurodiversity and mental health
I bring strong interpersonal skills, including warmth, empathy, creativity, and a collaborative approach.
