CINDY PARAS
About
I have clinical experience in a variety of settings including skilled home health, Medicare Part B home health, skilled nursing facilities, group home setting, and subacute rehab. My clinical interests are centered on aging in place, health & well-being, management of chronic health conditions, and education. I have demonstrated advanced competency in serving geriatric populations (gerontological occupational therapy) and advocating for older adult services that promote safe and independent living at home. I also enjoy being a fieldwork educator to future OT students.
I lead within an interprofessional team by promoting collaboration, open communications, and developing shared values. When leading a team at work, I focus on helping each member to find success. When leading as a fieldwork educator, I focus on sparking creativity, providing positive role-modeling, and supportive mentorship. I enjoy being a part of a network of practitioners who consistently reflect on how we can provide best practices through continuous learning and professional development. I strive to model ethical practice and focus on client-driven outcomes through an occupation-based approach to evidence-based intervention
